Workshop 1

Defining Your Brand

September 13th 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM

Our first workshop will kick-start your efforts by defining your brand and your customers. Knowing who uses your website allows you to build content that converts! This workshop will include:

  • What’s my brand? (Hint: It’s so much more than a logo.)
  • Customer Personas: Identify your customer’s key traits and media habits for effective marketing.
  • User flows: How to lead a prospect to become a customer?

Workshop 2

Creating Content That Converts

September 20 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM

After defining your target customers, it’s time to create the content that helps them to convert. Creating compelling content is key, but equally important is ensuring that it can be found online. We will also cover Search Engine Optimization (SEO) basics and how to use them to your advantage so Google is more likely to show off your website to your potential customers. Topics include:

  • What is SEO and what does it have to do with your website content?
  • Home page and landing page content
  • Pictures & Graphics are priceless
  • Calls to action and how to implement them online.

Workshop 3

Website Development In Action

September 27 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM

By week three we know you’ll be dying to dig into your website! We’ll take you through the step by step setup of our Streetcar theme for WordPress. You’ll learn how to navigate the back end of your website and how to add the content you created. Topics include:

  • WordPress Tour: Learn why WordPress powers over 460 million websites worldwide
  • Configuring your design: Colors, fonts and more
  • Data entry: using WordPress to impress

Workshop 4

Make Your Website Work For You

October 4 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM

Wrapping up our workshop series we will ensure that your website is ready to go live. You’ll continue entering content with the help of our coaches. To jumpstart your effort to attract ideal customers we will teach you how to drive traffic to your new website. Topics include:

  • Social media
  • Search Engine Marketing

Meet Your Instructors

Alex Jagodzinski

Alex Jagodzinski is a Customer Success Manager for Get Online NOLA. Before joining Get Online NOLA he combined his love of writing, sports and entrepreneurship to successfully launch a sports blogging website where he was the lead contributor, editor and manager of over 15 writers. He is a recent New Orleans transplant from Detroit by way of Los Angeles. When Alex isn’t at work he can be found hanging out with his dogs, cheering for his favorite sports teams or working on his Mardi Gras costumes.

Allison Schmidt

Allison Schmidt is the Marketing Manager for Get Online NOLA. She loves to use both sides of her brain to organize, create, and execute clever copy for websites, social media, and advertisements. She uses these skills plus her marketing degree to help businesses of all kinds expand their marketing efforts. When she’s not at work, you’ll find Allison testing out new recipes in the kitchen, crafting, or diving into a good book.
